You’re probably putting frozen fruit, banana and almond milk in your smoothies, right? Here’s one game-changing swap you can make to take your smoothie to the next level.
Have you ever seen a smoothie so shiny? I did *not* add an Instagram effect to this smoothie selfie – it’s 100% real and truly making my mouth water right now! Recently I’ve been using a typical combo of smoothie ingredients: two different kinds of frozen fruit, about 1 cup of water or almond milk, flax seed meal, and… wait for it… instead of banana, I’ve been adding a half of an avocado!
That’s right – avocado in my smoothie has COMPLETELY transformed the smooth, luscious texture. It keeps me full because of the healthy fats and makes the blend taste like an absolute dream machine.
But wait there’s more! There’s a bonus ingredient you have to try and it’s called collagen powder. I was initially very skeptical when the buzz was allllllll over social about Collagen Peptides. It was super popular in the Whole30 world because you can add it to coffee and it helps make it frothy while also helping keep you full. Collagen powder is supposed to be great for your hair, skin, nails and bones. Blueberry Cherry Smoothie
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup frozen cherries
- 1/3 cup frozen mango
- 1/2 an avocado
- 3/4 cup almond milk, plus extra for consistency
- 1 scoop collagen peptides
- Add all ingredients to a high-power blender. Blend until smooth, adding more liquid to adjust consistency if needed.
