Fortunes of a Merry Christmas

0 · Dec 22, 2010 · 3 Comments

I have officially found my favorite holiday treat of the season…Chocolate Dipped Fortune Cookies! They are perfect for this time of the year because although they look ultra gourmet and adorable, they only take a few minutes to create.

Stop by your nearest Chinese restaurant and politely ask for fortune cookies–I asked for around 20–or purchase some from a grocery store.

Unwrap them while you slowly melt 3/4 a bag of milk chocolate chips in the microwave (stir the chocolate so it doesn’t burn).

Dip the fortune cookies in the melted chocolate. Immediately decorate with holiday sprinkles, roll in crushed candy (Butterfingers, Kit Kat, Oreos, Candy Canes), or leave plain to drizzle with white chocolate or butterscotch.

Lay on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and let cool.

Package these adorable treats in miniature cellophane bags, tie with a holiday ribbon, and share with others!

On a gift tag write a note saying something like: “May your fortunes predict a holiday season filled with joy, laughter, and blessings. Merry Christmas!”

Love food. Love self. Love life.

Genius! I have always said that I don’t like fortune cookies because they don’t contain any chocolate. Yours look beautiful!

Thanks Sherrance! These would also be great for practically any other holiday, as you can change the sprinkles to coordinate. Valentine’s Day is coming up–how adorable would little pink and red heart sprinkles be!!
