My philosophy for entertaining is to pay attention to the details. I always notice the small things that a hostess thought about to really make the party complete.
For my cousin’s graduation party, my Aunt and I made labels for the condiment bottles out of scrapbook paper. This attention to detail really added pizzaz to the buffet line and continued the color theme around the party. This idea would be perfect for any summer BBQ with friends and family! All you’ll need is a few sheets of patterned scrapbook paper, white card stock paper for printing, a paint sponge and modge podge.
First, find a new font that fits the personality of your party. I love the free font website, dafont.com. Download it to your computer and type out the names of the condiments. Print out the labels on card stock paper and cut out. Then cut out scrapbook paper to cover the whole label of your condiments. Use paint sponge or brush to apply modge podge to bottle. Carefully place scrapbook paper on, push out any bubbles with a credit card. Then modge podge the condiment label in the center. I chose to decorate a mustard, ketchup and pickle jar…I love how they turned out!
Another simple tip is to use leftover ribbon to tie bows on serving utensils (tongs, spatulas, punch ladles, etc). We had some of this thin striped ribbon lying around and it ended up being perfect for the tongs!
Your party guests will definitely notice the thought you put into the little things. What details do you add to your parties?
